Bullet For My Valentine Halts Tour with Trivium, Shocking Fans

From Stage to Studio: Band’s Exit Sparks Feud with Trivium and Leaves Global Fans Disappointed

Bullet for My Valentine

In a surprising turn of events, Bullet For My Valentine has canceled the remaining international dates of their co-headlining "The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour" with Trivium, originally planned to celebrate the 20th anniversaries of their respective albums, The Poison and Ascendancy. The decision, announced in mid May 2025, has sparked confusion and disappointment among fans, as well as apparent friction between the two metalcore giants.

Bullet For My Valentine issued a statement explaining that the cancellation was necessary to focus on "the next chapter" of their career, specifically the recording of a new album. The band emphasized that the decision followed careful consideration, though they did not elaborate on specific reasons beyond their creative priorities. This move abruptly ended plans for highly anticipated shows in Latin America, Australia, and other regions, leaving fans who had purchased tickets in limbo.

Trivium, however, painted a different picture. Front man Matt Heafy and bassist Paolo Gregoletto expressed frustration, with Gregoletto stating on social media that Bullet For My Valentine’s lead singer, Matt Tuck, "didn't want to do it." Trivium alleged that the tour, initially promoted as a global endeavor, was cut short without sufficient communication or respect for their crew and fans. The band’s remarks, coupled with reports of both groups unfollowing each other on social media, suggest a deeper rift that may have contributed to the tour’s premature end.

The fallout has fueled speculation within the metal community. Some fans believe Bullet For My Valentine’s decision reflects a strategic pivot to new material, possibly driven by internal pressures or creative differences. Others point to Trivium’s claim that only four shows remained, questioning whether logistical or personal conflicts played a role. Neither band has confirmed medical or legal issues as factors, though Trivium’s Heafy later called for peace, urging fans to move past the drama.

The cancellation has left a bittersweet mark on what was a successful North American leg, with both bands delivering high-energy performances to packed venues. For now, Bullet For My Valentine appears focused on studio work, while Trivium has hinted at potential solo shows in the affected regions. Fans are left hoping for clarity and, perhaps, a reconciliation between two of metalcore’s most influential acts.
