About the Arena
Born in 2019 out of pure passion (and frustration), The Rock Arena was built to give rock and metal the raw, unfiltered spotlight it deserves. We got sick of seeing the same old shit, rock and metal media posting everything but rock and metal purely because they are more interested in engagement farming than the actual love of music., so we carved out a space that actually deserve your attention. From classic rock legends to the underground heavy hitters, if it rips, roars, or wrecks the norm, it belongs here.

We’re proudly based in South Africa and fiercely support our local scene, always have, always will. But rock knows no borders. So whether it's a killer new track from Joburg or a face melter from Japan, if it rocks, it’s on our radar.

This is YOUR Arena. A place for real fans to get their fix with breaking news, featured artists, deep dives, discoveries and the stuff you won’t find on the big name sites. And yes, we’re only as strong as the community that fuels us. Every visit, every share, every loud af comment? That’s what keeps this machine alive. So crank it up and #RaiseYourHorns.

GETTING FEATURED
We feature a band every month, If you are interested in having your band showcased on our featured artists or Discover section please get in contact with us via Facebook or email, if we decide to feature your band for any given month we will need the following info in order for us to really showcase your band and give you the exposure you deserve:

– full bio and info of band ( Influences, style, standout shows etc.)
– artwork for the featured banner and any promo photos of the band if available
– links to official site and/or social media
– links to official streaming (Spotify, Deezer, iTunes) sites to listen to your music)

We cannot guarantee that it will be looked at immediately but if there is anything that makes your band stand out please include that.
CONTRIBUTE TO THE ARENA
We are not a huge media publication so unfortunately as much as we would love to hire writers and photographers we just aren't able to. However, we are always looking for writers, photographers and contributors from around the world that would like to contribute to the Arena, in return we offer the chance to be published online, build a portfolio of your writing and works and gain valuable music industry experience that is viewed by people worldwide. We will also credit contributors on every submission.

To become an Arena Contributor, send us an email therockarenaza@gmail.com with a little about yourself, what rock genre you really enjoy etc, you must, however, have a passion for music and specifically rock music be it Classic rock right through to country rock and everything in-between.

If you have written before, please include an example of your recent work, and/or potential ideas you may have for submissions. Please submit articles as a text mail document or as a word document.
​
If we decide to work with you, all submissions are reviewed and may be slightly edited to fit the Arena's style. If we like your article but it needs some work, we will email you back and ask for revisions.
​
If accepted, articles will be posted with credit to the writer. Stories that include artwork (photographs, illustrations, and video links) are much more likely to be used online. All photographs must be hi-res and legally available for use. That means the writer (submitter) is wholly responsible for contacting the legal owners of all photographs and seeking permission to use them. All photo credits and captions should be submitted with the photos.
ADVERTISE IN THE ARENA
The Rock Arena has several advertising options available. We average thousands of unique views a week on our website and social media platforms. Because we are an online resource we don't only target local but global viewership.

We offer brands and companies the opportunity to sponsor full pages, various banners across social media, give aways, selected posts etc. you get the picture.

SUPPORTING US
The Arena was created and is run by 1 person with an immense passion for rock music and promoting music. We don't believe in flooding our site with google ads, external ads and link after link etc. these negatively affect a readers experience. We have setup 2 way to show your support to the Arena where members can contribute to the growth of the Arena if they want to and to help us keep this site forever ad free. We have massive dreams for the Arena, everything from creating a monthly rock podcast through to hosting mammoth rock festivals, but these goals will only ever be accomplished through the help from you. Help also means dropping a comment on a social media post, sharing our profile or inviting other fans to join.
